Sailplanes
There is absolutely nothing like soaring through the sky in a sailplane, being kept aloft by nothing but thermal currents and hearing no noise but the sibilant sighing of the wind as you slice through the atmosphere!
If you've ever flown a sailplane, you know how special they are. If you haven't, perhaps you owe it to yourself to give it a try.
These sailplane miniatures are not available in pewter, which is too soft to maintain the shape of the fuselage and wings.
As far as I can tell, it's the closest thing a human can do to try to capture the feeling of soaring through the heavens like the Eagles (the birds, not the band!). Perhaps hang-gliding is closer, but I've never tried that. -- JD
